[edit] How to add screen shots to a wiki page

If you want to add a screen shot to the wiki, first get a screen shot! On the Mac, you do this with the following steps:

  1. Hit shift-command-4 (i.e. hit all three keys at the same time--command refers to the key with the open apple/squiggly character on it). This should turn your cursor into a cross-hairs.
  2. Hit the space bar (This should turn your cursor from the cross-hairs to a camera.
  3. Move the cursor over the window you want to capture and click the mouse button (You should hear a camera shutter sound, and on your desktop will appear a file called Picture 1.png)

Now that you have the screen-shot, you need to upload it into the wiki. Click on "Upload file" on the navigation bar at left. Then upload the file according to the instructions.

Finally, add the image to your wiki page, by including text like what is shown below (this can be inserted by hitting the button that looks like a picture):

Note that the filename Example.jpg should be changed to the name of the file you uploaded. PNG is an acceptable format.

An example, of a screen-shot created with the steps above appears below. The place where you click to "Upload file" and the button that inserts the image text into the wiki page are circled in red.
